Session info: Defenders Masterclass is designed for players who want to excel in defensive roles and develop the qualities needed to become reliable, intelligent, and dominant defenders. The programme focuses on the technical, tactical, and physical demands of modern defending.
Players work on key defensive skills such as 1v1 defending, timing of tackles, body positioning, recovery runs, tracking movement, aerial duels, and effective clearances. Sessions also explore defensive organisation, communication, reading the game, and building play from the back, helping players understand both individual and unit-based responsibilities.
Training includes match-realistic scenarios that challenge players to make calm, confident decisions under pressure while understanding when to delay, press, or intercept. Coaches emphasise resilience, leadership, composure, and discipline — the traits that define top defenders.
The Defenders Masterclass equips young players with the tools to become strong, smart, and dependable at the back, capable of influencing games with both their defensive solidity and their ability to start attacks.
